PYTHEAS Tarama Paste is made from pickled fish eggs with the addition of 8% soybean meal. In Tarama Paste we add the natural dye “Carmine”, which gives the Tarama Salad the pink color that we all know.
PYTHEAS Tarama Paste is based on the recipe of grandfather Giannis Lymperopoulos that started in Piraeus in 1956 and was the basis for the classic recipe of the Greek Tarama Salad of that time. Even Mr. Giannis’ wife, Mrs. Irene, wanted Tarama Paste instead of Tarama LYBE!
